Color Theory Abstract Wall Hanging

This art quilt is created with strips of batik material cut and raw edge appliquéd then free motion quilted to become a beautiful addition to any wall of your home.    The colors range from warms to cools in this interesting pice on color.  There are additions on top with hand stitching embellishments and buttons.     The main colors of this piece are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet with variations in between to round out the piece.  Created solely of batik materials.

Batik cotton materials are known for their vibrant colors and I use them exclusively in my quilting artwork. Small pieces are carefully cut and rough edge appliquéd to create a painting in the material. I then layer the pieced top with cotton batting and a coordinating material on the back and free motion quilt the piece together, adding a pocket along the top edge in the back to insert a dowel (NOT included) to hang the quilt for your viewing pleasure.
